Computer lab

Section will be in 1131 Meyer today. I want to prepare you for the class project so here’s the agenda:

  • Data sources (where to get data?)
  • Getting data into Excel (file formats, etc)
  • Creating charts/graphs/pivot tables (PTs are cool)
  • Discuss the format of the paper
  • Project groups and topics

Also, I want to hand back and review the mid-term exam. I don’t think I’ll be done with grading…

Solow predicts rising wages and constant rental rates in the steady state

I flubbed the proof of these results in the review session. Sorry about that.

Here’s how you prove wages are always increasing and rental rates are constant in the steady state.

Homework 2 answer key

Here. Good luck on the exam!

Growth Accounting

I forgot to cover Growth Accounting in section yesterday, pages 244-249 in Mankiw.   We’ll discuss it in the review section today.  You’ll be responsible for this material for the exam.

due date of this homework is this FRIDAY 2:10pm at Will’s review session. The review session will be held from 2:10-3:00pm at Young 192. You can also submit earlier if you are not planning to attend the session. In such case, please bring the homework to either me or Will in person (that means, do NOT slide it under the office door).

Also, if you have different edition of the textbook, make sure you answer the assigned question. You can come to my office hour tomorrow to doublecheck it

Good luck!
