Here is the link to the paper I mentioned in class.  This is NOT a required reading but if you are interested in global warming issue (or if you just watched “The Inconvenient Truth”) , you might feel interesting. Also the idea of discounting is relevant to the topic I will duscuss later in class.

Macroeconomist as Scientist and Engineer

Dear students,

here is the link to the paper I mentioned in class.  Its called The Macroeconomist as Scientist and Engineer by Greg Mankiw.  Please have it read by the end of the SS.

Contents wise, it could be a bit difficult at this point. Don’t worry too much about the details, rather focus on the big picture. My suggestion is to read it once during the first week and read it one more time at the end of the SS.

Class starts next Monday

Lecture is Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 2:10-3:50 in 229 Wellman. Section is Thursday at 12:10-1:50 in 105 Olson for section B21 and its at 2:10-3:50 in 1342 Storer for section B22. Check my.ucdavis to see which section you’re in.

You should read chapter 1 before lecture on Monday.
